Meet the Crafter

Take a look at this wonderful sisters working together making the most amzing jewellery. Read on and find a little more about them.

Who is Koro Accessories?

Koro Accessories was started by two sisters, Karina and Rosina. Before we had the idea of crafting and designing our own jewellery, we've always found ourselves discussing how it'll be nice if this ring has this colour or that necklace has this design instead when we browse through jewellery. Then the idea came about that instead of wishing, we could actually make it come true.

What do you make?

Necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings made from glass domes and antique brass settings, featuring floral, birdie, butterflies themes and contemporary designs.

What inspires you when you design your products?
Inspired by our love for vintage style and the beautiful elements we see in nature, our designs revolve around birds, floral patterns and bright colours. We are constantly thinking of new ideas to express and share the lovely things we see, people we meet and experiences we have everyday through our crafts and designs

Where do you work from?

We work mainly from our studio at home in Central Auckland, overseeing the beautiful view of the Waitemata Harbour which refreshes our mind and keeps the ideas and inspirations coming.

So pop in on Saturda and meet these amazing sisters for yourself.

Don't forget about our giveaway. You can go into the draw just by making a purchase at the market on Saturday.
Be in with a chance to win a fun gift basket.

Meet the Crafter

I can't believe that market day has come around so quickly and the fact that it is our birthday market too.

This month I have decided to hold some interviews with a few of our stall holders. First check out the Glen Eden Play Centre.

Did you know that the kitchen at the market is run by the Play Centre, raising money on a monthly basis. So here a little about them and work they do.

Tells us about the Play Centre and what it offers?

Playcentre is an early childhood education service, run cooperatively by member families, offering a nurturing learning environment for children. The emphasis is on child-initiated learning and the importance of whanau/families as the first and most important educators of their children. Glen Eden Playcentre is open on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings’ from 9am, come along for a free visit to find out what all the fuss is about!

What do you sell at the Market?

As our major fundraising exercise, we run a cake stall at the market selling a range of home baked goodies made by the families of Glen Eden Playcentre. This month we are going to foray into some comforting winter foods including hot soups and toasted sandwiches, along with our yummy baking.

Who comes to sell at the market?

Volunteers from our Playcentre families come along to sell the goodies.

Who are your products made by?

The families of Glen Eden Playcentre.

So you have been coming for a year now. How much money have you raised for the Play Centre?

We have been lucky enough to raise over $3000 in the past year through our cake stall at Handmade Titirangi.

What does the fundraising at the market help pay for?

100% of the money raised goes towards buying new play equipment for our centre. Just recently we have bought two new Tredsafe boxes to add to our playground climbing equipment. The kids love them!
Our wonderful kitchen ladies will now be offer hot food from including warm winter soups and toasties along their usual yummy treats. So come support our Glen Eden Play Centre.
